Pool Opening Services
When is the best time to open my pool?
We typically recommend to open your pool by early May to improve your chances of uncovering an algae-free pool. Winterizing chemicals will dissipate over the winter and algae grows easier in warmer weather. Opening in warmer weather is still possible, but may require the addition of more chemicals to clear your water up before using it. A professional pool closing by a qualified pool company like ours will give you the best chance to open your pool with the least amount of issues.
What do you do to open my pool?
Our comprehensive Summerizing process includes
- Removal, cleaning, and storing your winter cover at your preference
- Reinstallation of ladders, handrails, fittings, and baskets
- Checking and reconnecting of pool equipment, with lubrication of o-rings and gaskets as necessary
- Removal and inspection of winterizing plugs, and replacement if needed (for additional charge)
- If water is at operational level for pump, your system will be restarted and inspected
- Opening chemicals can be added (for additional charge)
- Addition of DE and reinstallation of cartridge(s) if needed
Any recommendations for repairs or replacements will be noted and can be scheduled with the office for a future return date
Save Money and Time
- For best service, please ensure your water level is at optimal level for your pool pump to operate prior to opening.
- For solid winter covers, please have all water drained atop your cover before your opening appointment to help avoid any rescheduling fees or cover-pumping charges.
- If your pool was very green or black at Closing, please request a Green to Clean service with your pool opening so we can waste as little time as possible to clear up your pool.
